> « Dans ces corps » / 10 & 11 May 2010 / Centre Chorégraphique National de Rillieux / Musée des Confluences / Les Subsistances

Theatre, dance, circus

2 days of shows and events

With the support of DRAC Rhône-Alpes.

The title Dans ces corps (“Within these bodies”) plays on the homophony with the expression “Danse et corps” (Dance and the body). These bodies can be normalised or singular, able to move or transfixed in stillness. What happens then “within these bodies”?

Dans ces corps is both a network and a event jointly imagined by the Centre Chorégraphique National de Rillieux, Musée des Confluences and Les Subsistances. The aim is to draw up and give life to these different body densities and gravities. The handicap is not a crutch... It is all about looking at the dancing movement, whatever form this may take. Norms are shifted to imagine possible alternative body configurations.

All through the year, the three venues will offer meetings with the artists at work they chose to support.

Then, in May, a two-day event will reunite everyone and the public. With Compagnie Virevolt, Alexandre Roccoli, Théâtre de l’APA, Compagnie Ali Fekih.

In order to support contemporary circus, Les Subsistances has entered various help and sharing networks

> Jeunes Talents Cirque (Circus Budding Talent) / www.scenesdecirque.org

Les Subsistances supports the Jeunes Talents Cirque (Circus Budding Talent) initiative, a system designed to accompany young European producers in the field of circus. “Jeunes Talents Cirque” aims to support the emergence of new forms and styles and to promote artistic creation and research in this field.

> Territoires de cirque / www.territoiresdecirque.com

This organisation founded in 2004 currently covers 30 production and distribution companies particularly focused on the new contemporary forms of circus. Its members - “scènes conventionnées”, “scènes nationales”, heritage sites and venues dedicated to circus acts - constitute a national network centred on the different aspects of this rich and exciting, but economically fragile, field. It aims to create a space for dialogue and professional action, dedicated to this medium, to be an active partner and a source of proposals with the institutional, professional and public authorities, on a national and international level. The members of the organisation Territoires de Cirque regularly gather during events organised in their midst, during highlights of programs and festivals, or during the production phase, which all allow them to exchange ideas and to carry on the thought process to decide what is at stake in this medium.
