DESTINATION BRAZIL FORRO DE REBECA,
CESAR ALLAN
CONCERTS AND BRAZILIAN PARTY
27 March 2010 / Free of charge
Do you feel like going to a party where the music is impossible to resist, where the desire to dance, to sway to the rhythms of vocal poetry mixing nostalgia and struggle is overwhelming? Then our Destination Brazil event is for you! Two groups, two different flavours will be present.
Cesar Allan, a politically committed Carioca from Lyon, has been immersed since childhood in what Brazilians call Brazilian Popular Music. His style now includes notes, rhythms, silences and sighs…
Forro De Rebeca brings us music from the North-East of Brazil and the intoxicating sound of the “rebeca”, a traditional handmade violin. This musical journey is conveyed by melodies and rhythms taken from oral traditions.
