A mobile network of artists

Les Subsistances is part of a national and international artistic network. Far from just offering residences and showing foreign productions, Les Subsistances builds bridges with artists and organisations from various countries. The aim is for French and foreign artists to be confronted with other ways to view contemporary productions.

As part of our international exchange endeavours, projects are developed with...

...l’Europe

- Un espace pour la performance "A space for live art"

Live art, an artistic medium which defies definition has experienced a remarkable revival for the last few years. It remains, however, little known. In order to remedy this lack of awareness, and to emphasize the importance of new forms of live art in Europe, eight organisations and venues have entered into a partnership as part of a 5-year European project, called A Space for Live Art.

Through the programming of each partner and the different sorts of exchanges put into place -co-productions, distribution, residences, and international conferences - it is the diversity of artistic processes which is underlined here. Theory-based meetings, the setup of a professional critical corpus and the documentation of projects through sounds and/or pictures will reinforce the thinking and documentary aspect on live art. Communication and transmission will also be promoted, via the infiltration and the occupation of public space, and an educational section, including partnerships with art schools where budding talent will be encouraged.
