Estelle Borel

Estelle Borel est une artiste de cirque contemporain, autrice et interprète. Fildefériste, diplômée de la FLIC, Scuola di circo di Torino (IT) et Licenciée en Lettres modernes à L’Université de Dijon (FR), elle est co-fondatrice et directrice artistique de la compagnie suisse Cirqu’en Choc depuis 2009.

Estelle axe son travail sur la proximité avec le public, les sujets de société piquants et la prise de risques. Sa recherche est de travailler l’intime et le politique avec le corps et donner du sens au geste acrobatique par la poésie.

Pour sa prochaine création Mais les homards du Titanic, eux, sont encore vivants ! prévue pour 2026 elle a reçu une bourse Théâtre Pro du canton du Valais ainsi qu’une bourse d’écriture SSA-Pro Cirque.

Estelle Borel is a contemporary circus artist, writer, and performer. A tightwire walker, she graduated from FLIC – Scuola di Circo di Torino (Italy) and holds a degree in Modern Literature from the University of Dijon (France). She is the co-founder and artistic director of the Swiss company Cirqu’en Choc, established in 2009.

Estelle’s work focuses on closeness with the audience, bold social themes, and taking risks. Her research explores the intersection of the intimate and the political through the body, seeking to give acrobatic movement meaning through poetry.

For her upcoming creation Mais les homards du Titanic, eux, sont encore vivants ! scheduled for 2026, she received a Théâtre Pro grant from the Canton of Valais as well as a SSA-Pro Cirque writing grant.
