VIDEO INSTALLATION

Between “ghosts and vanities”, the worlds of Christian Rizzo converse with shadows. Appear, disappear be uncertain of the presence . . . Christian Rizzo, choreographer and visual artist directed the project Tourcoing - Taipei - Tokyo in collaboration with the Taiwanese artist Iuan-Hau Chiang. It is built around three cities and offers a perspective on the relationship of bodies, movement and space. The installation comprises three films in conversation. Together they create a minimal, poetic and mysterious world where the virtual speaks with the real.

Co-production: the French Institute of Tokyo, the Fresnoy studio national des arts contemporains of Tourcoing, the Digital Education Institute & Institute for Information Industry (Taiwan), the French Institute, Les Subsistances of Lyon, the French Institute of Taipei. With the collaboration of the Cultural Affairs Council of Taiwan and the Bureau of Economic and Cultural Representation of Taiwan in Japan. Special thanks to Emmanuelle de Montgazon, who provided the impetus for this project. Creation in the garden of the French Institute of Tokyo on 16 September 2011. L’association fragile receives assistance from the Ministry of Culture and Communication / DRAC Nord pas de Calais, as assistance to an approved choreographic company. From 2007 to June 2012, Christian Rizzo is in residency at the Lille Opera.
