American cartoonist Josh Neufeld’s work is always connected to current affairs.
In his roles as a newspaper illustrator (The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Forbes, etc.) and as a cartoonist, he always conveys information in a full-on, hard-hitting way. His latest book, New Orleans After the Deluge, a non-fiction cartoon on the survivors of Hurricane Katrina, was extremely successful in the States.

PRESS REVIEWS...
" A.D. est brut décoffrage et douloureux, avec ses descriptions détaillées de maisons détruites et les dialogues déchaînés de ses personnages. . . . Pour de nombreux habitant de la Nouvelle Orléans, l’histoire les touche à vif. " Newsweek

" Accessible, instructif et merveilleusement bien illustré, . . . La web BD de Josh Neufeld raconte l'histoire vraie des victimes de l’ouragan à la Nouvelle Orléans. " USA Today -  "PopCandy"

". . . Neufeld has created a work of art that becomes both social history and political commentary. . . . Neufeld’s honesty, integrity and attention to detail grabs readers and make us empathize with survivors. . . . Neufeld does not make propaganda; he makes art that speaks a political and humanitarian message: never leave people behind. A. D. [is] powerful and gratifying. The novel becomes an everlasting memorial to the lives of a city, its people and perhaps a generation of survivors."

Josh Neufeld (born in 1967 in New York City) is an alternative cartoonist known for his fact-based comics on subjects like Hurricane Katrina, international travel and finance, as well as his collaborations with writers like Harvey Pekar and David Greenberger.
Neufeld was awarded a 2004 grant from the Xeric Foundation for his graphic novel, A Few Perfect Hours (and Other Stories From Southeast Asia & Central Europe), a collection of real-life stories about his travel experiences. He is the creator of the comic book series The Vagabonds (published by Alternative Comics), and co-creator (with high school friend Dean Haspiel) of Keyhole (Millennium/Modern and Top Shelf Productions) and (with R. Walker) Titans of Finance: True Tales of Money and Business (Alternative Comics). In 2005, shortly after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, he spent three weeks as an American Red Cross volunteer in  Mississippi. The blog he kept about that experience turned into a self-published book, Katrina Came Calling (2006). In 2007–2008, Neufeld wrote and drew A.D.: New Orleans After the Deluge, an online graphic novel serialized on SMITH Magazine.
