Ali Fekih

Residence dates: From 2 to 13 may 2011

From body popping to body movements, and circus to theatre, Ali Fekih never ceases to train in new disciplines. From 2001 to 2004, he trained at the Samovar school in Bagnolet, where he specialised in clown acts as well as classical, mime and burlesque theatre. His journey has been punctuated with exciting encounters with - among others - Patrick Haggiag (2002), Anne-Catherine Nicoladzé (2007), and Alexandre Del Perugia (2007), and initial artistic forays into street theatre. Since 1994, he has been touring in various countries to perform his own street theatre productions, such as Alchimie (2000), an award-winning solo piece in Australia and Switzerland. In ’07/08, together with A-C. Nicoladzé and Patrick Haggiag, he produced Déséquilibres... A quoi ça tient !?, a solo performance created with the support of the CNN in Rillieux-la-Pape and Micadanses. In 2009, Fekhi created his latest solo piece - Les Flamants Roses - which he presented in 2010 at Les Subsistances as part of the “Dans Ces Corps” festival.
