The new season is going to be festive! Start by joining us for a drink and seeing what the Fall-Winter 19/20 season has in store. Then, Les Subs will open its doors to artists from all around the world to introduce you to some out-of-the-ordinary performers. You wouldn’t know it from his name, but Yannos Majestikos comes from Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A visual artist and performer, he creates activist pieces in public spaces such as the performance he’ll give under the Skylight with television-men. This doubly relaxing evening will continue on the dance floor of the Bakery with the Syrian musician Wael Alkak, who’s a whiz at telescoping electronic music, traditional North African/Middle Eastern rhythms (chaâbi), popular songs, and revolutionary hymns.

Party en exil is the first of a series of invitations Les Subs is extending in partnership with the Artists in Exile Workshop. This unique organization supports more than 200 artists from all over the world who have recently found refuge in France. They are visual artists, choreographers, dancers, and directors who have left countries where they were threatened. Their works are powerful, spirited testimony to contemporary artistic migration.
