Oscar Gómez Mata & Juan Loriente

Makers
Theater / Performance

Two performance art superheroes celebrate the pleasure of working together on stage with comedic bursts that keep the utopian fires burning. When the most childish laughter sets off the most abysmal existential thoughts.

“Let’s quit thinking we’re going to save the world. Let’s just do it.”
In 19th-century Scotland, poets were called “makers”: people who make. That translation gives Oscar Gómez Mata and Juan Loriente reason to believe and to get to work. Tapping into their childlike nature, which overflows, surprises, and today, is keeping the utopian flame burning, these two fans of “side B” reality and free thinking embark on a quest to find their balance.
