Marco da Silva Ferreira

This show is presented as part of the MOI of dance

What awareness are we building today? What is the underlying nature of our relationships? Marco da Silva Ferreira asks the sensitive question of gender through a striking choreography on the border of contemporary dance and hip-hop. Bison [n1] embodies a futuristic urban dance where hyper masculinity and the queer and feminist worlds live together. Six dancers try to exist through dance while deconstructing it, breaking the rules and usual dynamics of the male-female relationship. The bodies move with frenetic energy to powerfull, electrifying sound rhythms. Marco da Silva Ferreira is searching for a specific, hybrid and evolving language. Receptive to the inexhaustible source comprised by the dancers’ varied backgrounds, he coaxes the bodies to give up their deepest secrets.
