El Conde de Torrefiel

La Posibilidad que desaparece frente al paisaje*
Theater / Performance

“Art is not political. Art comes from religion.”

You are all invited to the huge event orchestrated by El Conde de Torrefiel!

It’s been almost a decade since this company from Barcelona shook things up on Europe’s stages with mind-blowing creations that cross theater with performance art. At its head: Pablo Gisbert and Tanya Beyeler. An unclassifiable duo with dark humor that all the theaters have been snatching up since their noteworthy performance at the 2016 Festival d’Automne. La Possibilité qui disparaît face au paysage goes one step further toward abstraction and blending genres. On stage, four anonymous people populate 10 bucolic landscapes, then 10 European cities. The voices of well-known people who inspired this show play like a soundtrack: Michel Houellebecq, Zygmunt Bauman, Spencer Tunick, etc. Like a pop-up book that’s both serious and funny, the show explores the pathetic activity of our daily lives.
