This show is part of the Semaine sur Mars festival!
Written collectively, this piece takes us inside the school custodian’s lodge, where six characters cross paths and create situations of improbable truths.
Suddenly left empty, this room, which is both a work space and a home, raises questions. The characters all try to reinvent themselves, to rewrite shared narratives and seek the truth wherever it can be found. Is there only one truth?
With this new creation, Compagnie Théâtre Déplié is continuing its experiment with philosophical and political theater that explores reality and life in society.

Compagnie Théâtre Déplié has been co-managed since 2009 by Adrien Béal (director) and Fanny Descazeaux (artistic assistant and head of production, distribution, and management). After their first efforts based on contemporary works (Michel Vinaver, Roland Schimmelpfennig, Guillermo Pisani, and Oriza Hirata), Adrien Béal directed Henrik Ibsen’s Le Canard sauvage in 2009. In 2010, the company started working on improvisation and alternating staged texts with creations that developed directly from the work with the actors. In this way, the company created Il est trop tôt pour prendre des décisions définitives with the actor Arthur Igual, based on Pasolini’s Affabulazione (2011), then, continuing work it had started earlier on plays by Roland Schimmelpfennig, staged Visite au père (2013). In 2014, the company started experimenting with Michel Vinaver’s writing in two different ways: the stage premiere of Pas de Bême and a staging of Les Voisins for the Villeréal festival. Then a show written on stage and premiered in Fall 2015 that tells tales of things that happen in the future questions the concept of disaster and the way it determines our relationship to responsibility. In May 2017, the company premiered Les Batteurs, a theatrical and musical performance commissioned by Théâtre de la Bastille and written during rehearsals with six drummers. What might a contemporary choir be? The company is currently working on its next show, Perdu connaissance, which will premiere at Théâtre Dijon Bourgogne and for which the company will again work in the space-time of representing political issues through theater and fiction. The company’s first shows premiered at Théâtre de Vanves, Atelier du plateau in Paris, and Echangeur de Bagnolet. Compagnie Théâtre Déplié is a partner of Théâtre Dijon Bourgogne, CDN, and T2G – Théâtre de Gennevilliers.
