Gilles Pastor?
Director, author and actor, in 2002 Gilles Pastor founded the theater company KastôrAgile and developed a personal, intimate theater by introducing autobiographical materials (family videos, sexuality, illness, etc.). His work led him to explore writing shows that cross the borders between genres, shows that are often travelogues of real and imaginary voyages. Since 2002 he has frequently worked with Jean-Philippe Salério (actor), Pierre David (stage designer), Vincent Boujon (video maker), Catherine Bouchetal (artistic adviser) and Yoann Tivoli (lighting engineer). After creating Requiem at Les Subsistances, Pastor visited Dungeness (Kent, UK), staying in Derek Jarman’s house. Winner of the 2007 Villa Médicis prize, he spent three months in Salvador da Bahia, where he worked on Candomblé possession trances. His Projet Tempête(S) 2008 / 2009, Tempête à 54°Nord / Treize Degrés Sud is a writing for the stage revolving around a shipwreck: it’s a story of voyages, a combination of influences between the desert of Kent and Bahia based on Shakespeare’s Tempest.??
