New Yorker Gabriel Kahane is one of the new talents who’s arrived from the other side of the Atlantic. He’s our kind of musician: a delicate voice and borderless musical culture. When he’s not composing contemporary music for the likes of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Kronos Quartet, he’s writing songs. In 2014, he wrote an unusual homage to the city of Los Angeles called The Ambassador, the name of the famous hotel and nightclub inaugurated in 1921 and demolished in 2005. He created a stage version of that album, which was presented at the BAM (New York). On piano, guitar, and banjo, this multi-instrumentalist will play excerpts and numerous other compositions and songs in the pop genre, accompanied by the Quatuor Debussy.
