ABOUT MONSTRATION
INSTALLATION BY JOHANN LE GUILLERM – JUNE 2006

« It is beauty in miniature and bigger, created first by a lot of work, and which grows indefintitely. Thank you Johann Le Guillerm.” Noëlle D., Association Orloges

“I loved the mandarins and my Estonian friend tried the lizard today, which wasn’t bad. For our housewarming party in two weeks time, we decided to buy 3kg of mandarins and 2kg of oranges. And lemons. But they’re not as good, says my boyfriend. Thank you.” A visitor at the Monstration installation.

“Ouah! Mandarins turn into human beings, physics turn into a show, and particularly good music... Well done!” Paul, student at Collège Marot

“It’s great to be able to touch and interact with the art, touch it, feel it, turn it, see what happens with it. The atmosphere is very nice. And the carpet is great to walk barefoot on. Try it.” A student at Collège Gérard Philipe, Saint-Priest.

ABOUT THE DANCE WORKSHOP WITH PEOPLE WITH CEREBRAL PALSY AND ABLE-BODIED PERSONS SUPERVISED BY SOPHIE BRENAS - MAY 2006

It’s difficult to put to paper emotions and feelings that were experienced collectively and personally in such an intense manner... It’s very pleasant to shift your position and outlook on people... incredible to discover oneself and discover or rediscover others through a common experience...” Claude Cereize, social worker at Foyer Etang Carret

« How can a person manage to produce a force without moving? We looked at each other and the ones that moved the most were not always the most moving... It was almost the ones who did the least who had the biggest impact.” Edouard, a participant in the dance workshop

“The link is to work together, working together is being a group, and being in a group is an enriching experience.” Christophe, a participant in the dance workshop and a resident at the Foyer Etang Carret

ABOUT THE PRISON WORKSHOP “QU'EST CE QUE TU VEUX ?”, ORGANISED IN THE “QUARTIER DES MINEURS” IN SAINT PAUL/SAINT JOSEPH BY PASCALE HENRY AND XAVIER KIM – APRIL 2006

“It is the performances after all, the laughs they get from the audience, the positive outlook they receive, which places them in an imaginary space, that reveals to them physically this space of “play” and “pretend” which allows them to speak and exist. [...] They played really well. We could feel they were expecting the audience’s reaction, with a bit of fear and a dose of pleasure on top. Something was happening...” Pascale Henry, writer and director.
