Amateur artistic practice_

Transform your way of looking at things. This was the idea behind our decision to create practice workshops. It is not simply to practice theatre or circus techniques but also to meet artists who work in our creative laboratory, and to see shows, talk about them, in brief to enter through practice what constitutes the energy, the meaning and the dynamics of contemporary productions.

Introduction to circus

Acrobatics / Aerials / Juggling / Balancing Acts

The teaching methods in place lie on creativity and physical practice, through teaching basic circus acts. Each participant will discover the different techniques, then he/she will choose to develop one or two techniques and will create with the group a show that will be performed at the end of the season or at the end of the course.


HOLIDAYS: 2 WEEK-LONG COURSES 12-16 years / Supervised by Pascal Nolin. Autumn Course: 145 Euros Winter Course: 180 Euros	Teens

Circus workshops are organised in partnership with the Ecole du Cirque in Lyon.

Circus Workshops

WEEKLY WORKSHOP: ACROBATICS All levels / Supervised by Ali Bendahman. Tuesday nights 7pm to 9pm + 2 intensive weekends Price: 375 Euros (3 shows included)	15 Years +
The workshop will deal with learning floor techniques linked to stunts.

WEEKEND: 3 JUGGLING COURSES Beginners to advanced / Supervised by Olivier Burlaud. Price: 60 Euros (1 show included) / All three weekends: 165 Euros	15 years +
The aim of the courses is not to learn how to juggle with three, four or five balls, but to evaluate the experience and technical level of each participant and to follow different leads around the objects used and the accompanying movements.

3 COURSES: HAND BALANCING All levels / Supervised by Pascal Nolin. 3 Courses of 7 weekly sessions each Thursday nights (7 to 9pm) Price: 90 Euros (1 show included) / All three Courses: 250 Euros	14 Years +
These courses will allow participants to gain basic knowledge and to work further on the various techniques of still balancing, by developing in their own time physical qualities required to do the movements. Circus workshops are organised in partnership with the Ecole du Cirque in Lyon.

Theatre Workshop

WEEKLY WORKSHOP Medium and advanced / Supervised by Gilles Pastor and KastôrAgile. Monday nights 7 to 10pm all through the year. Price: 380 Euros (insurance + 5 shows included)	Adults
“I make theatre by taking real things to invent other things.” Theatre is an expression of an identity, our identities: it is the aim of Gilles Pastor, director and actor, who developed with Kastôr Agile a personal and intimate form of theatre by introducing autobiographical elements. The workshops he will be supervising at Les Subsistances will be about developing the technical side of theatre but he will also ask the participants to discover new possibilities and to explore personal areas with a certain distance through improvisation and texts.

Mécano du langage

During a residence, artists can ask members of the audience to work for a short period of time on a specific theme.

Richard Brunel / Compagnie Anonyme / Wednesday 15 november In Hedda Gabbler, the notion of space, whether it is the stage space, social space or personal space is essential. Richard Brunel will ask the participants to work on the notion of the theatre space, based on Ibsen’s play.
Angélique Clairand / La Compagnie des Lumas / Wednesday 29 November Writing and performing with Raymond Federman’s Mon corps en 9 parties: Angélique Clairand will ask each person to ‘make theatre’ from the stories born from the scrutiny exercised on the body, our own and others’.

“Gens de paroles”

New... Feel like being involved in the production? Like understanding better the processes needed to create contemporary plays? Like asking questions to the artists? Like communicating to others? “Gens de paroles” is a group of privileged spectators who act as intermediaries between the artists and the other spectators. A privileged space where a few hours a month are dedicated to understanding the goals of today’s artistic languages.
